Ocean Gardener is a Bali-based non-profit organization established in 2016 to restore Indonesia’s degraded coral reefs and expand coral education opportunities for Indonesians. Its team of biologists, divers, and coral enthusiasts works with local communities, hotels, resorts, dive shops, academic and government institutions, and marine conservation groups to establish coral nurseries and restore nearby reefs. Drawing on extensive coral-farming experience, the organization shares restoration methods with its partners and reports planting more than one million corals across Indonesia.

Ocean Gardener offers public visits in Bali that introduce guests to coral ecology and restoration, include snorkeling at a nursery, and give visitors the opportunity to plant a coral fragment. It also provides practical courses, from introductory coral restoration programs to a full restoration certification and advanced coral identification training. Participants learn about coral biology, reef monitoring, management, and restoration techniques, with opportunities for hands-on work. Donations, coral adoption, tours, and courses support its restoration and community outreach efforts.
