Ocean Life Kilkee is an SSI dive centre based on the East Pier in Kilkee, County Clare, along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Its dive centre, shop and café are located together beside the water, making it a convenient base for exploring the Clare coast. The centre offers Discover Scuba sessions for beginners, SSI Open Water Diver courses for those seeking a certification recognised worldwide, and guided dives for qualified divers.
Dives take place at sites around Kilkee, including Middle Rock, Donegal Point, Diamond Rocks, Tony’s Crack, Chimney Bay, the Blue Pool and Newfee. The team chooses locations according to the wind, swell, tide, diver experience and daily sea conditions. Underwater wildlife may include pollock, conger eels, spider crabs, cuckoo wrasse, mackerel and, at certain times, trigger fish; dolphins may also pass through the bay.
Ocean Life also sells diving and water-sports gear, including wetsuits, rash vests, masks, snorkels, hoods, gloves and accessories. The centre operates seven days a week from May to September and provides updates on live sea conditions.
