The Ocean Tracking Network (OTN) is a global aquatic research, data management, and partnership platform based at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. OTN's main objective is to advance the understanding and conservation of aquatic animals by providing valuable insights into their movements, habitats, and survival in response to changing global environments. Since 2008, OTN has deployed cutting-edge technologies such as acoustic and satellite tagging systems, oceanographic monitoring equipment, marine autonomous vehicles (gliders), remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), and side scan sonar systems, in various ocean and inland water locations worldwide.

By tracking aquatic animals, monitoring global ocean and freshwater conditions, and connecting researchers, resources, and infrastructure, OTN and its collaborators are revolutionizing aquatic research and management practices. OTN's work is made possible through partnerships with funders such as the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, Research Nova Scotia, and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, among others.
