About OceanX
OceanX is a nonprofit operating program of Dalio Philanthropies, working to unlock the ocean’s sustainable potential through science, education, technology, media, and collaboration. Its vision is a world where the ocean and humanity thrive together, with a healthy, abundant ocean supporting human health and prosperity, and people protecting ocean resilience through sustainable management and use.
OceanX advances marine science to develop solutions that restore ocean health and enrich human life. Its work includes research expeditions around the world, supported by pioneering technology and its flagship research vessel, OceanXplorer. The organization also publishes scientific work and supports initiatives such as marine protected areas, sustainable fisheries, and bioeconomy innovation.
Through education programs, OceanX aims to inspire future ocean leaders. Its offerings include ocean literacy programs, career pathways, stewardship initiatives, hackathons, leadership immersions, multimedia learning, and resources for educators.
