Radek Ocelák’s personal website presents the work of an independent scholar, historian, genealogist, publisher, writer, and collector based in Šumperk, Czech Republic. Formerly active in academic linguistics and philosophy, he studied at Charles University in Prague and the University of Amsterdam. His research and publications span philosophy of language, semantics, Czech linguistics, historical photography, and the history and genealogy of Romanian Slovaks.

Ocelák publishes the Edice Sedmihradsko series and works by writer Marie Knitschke. His books and research include Reemigranti, on the history of Slovaks in Transylvania and their postwar migration to Czechoslovakia, and studies of Romanian Slovak settlement and migration to Brazil. He also compiles an evolving catalogue of Czech carte-de-visite photographs and writes about dating historical portraits.
