Ochrana fauny

Ochrana Fauny ČR is a Czech nonprofit organization founded by Pavel Křížek in 1998 to protect wild animals and their habitats. Based in Hrachov near Sedlčany, it operates a wildlife rescue station and environmental education centre, alongside a butterfly house in Votice. The rescue station treats hundreds of injured or sick wild animals each year, with more than 60 percent of treated animals returning to the wild. A round-the-clock response service helps people seeking assistance for injured wildlife.

Beyond animal rescue, Ochrana Fauny ČR runs species-protection programmes, cares for valuable natural areas in its region, organizes nationwide nature-conservation campaigns and provides expert advice. Its educational and visitor services include guided visits, environmental activities, talks, exhibitions and seasonal events for families and nature enthusiasts. The organization also offers children’s nature and animal-care clubs and summer day camps. Visitors can learn about wildlife and see rescued animals at the Hrachov centre, while the Votice butterfly house provides another opportunity to explore nature.
