About Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust
Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust (ŌCHT) is a registered community housing provider and charitable trust dedicated to offering affordable homes and fostering sustainable communities across greater Ōtautahi. Since 2016, we have been leasing the Christchurch City Council’s social housing portfolio, providing homes for over 2700 individuals in more than 110 communities. As a tenant-centric landlord, we actively collaborate with tenants and social services to support sustainable tenancies, focusing on enhancing individual and community well-being.
Our commitment extends to property management and development, with ongoing maintenance and building projects that deliver award-winning, innovative homes. Guided by our values of Duty of Care, Celebration, Environmental Sustainability, and Transparency, we strive for financial and social sustainability to meet the housing needs of both current and future generations. As a community housing provider, we prioritize providing warm, safe, and secure homes, allocating housing based on need, and supporting tenants in accessing social services for a brighter future
