Centre d’idéation et de ressources, l’Ocim explore les enjeux du monde contemporain sous le prisme des institutions muséales et patrimoniales avec les rapprochements que ces institutions contribuent à façonner entre la science et la société . Observatoire des pratiques et animateur de réseaux, l’Ocim intervient sur un large champ de la connaissance allant des musées aux établissements de culture scientifique, technique et industrielle, en intégrant tous les acteurs du patrimoine, les universités et les organismes nationaux de recherche. Crée en 1985, l’Ocim est un service général de l’université de Bourgogne. Il a pour mission principale de constituer un appui et un accompagnement aux politiques publiques initiées et menées par le Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche (MESR), notamment dans le cadre du dialogue entre la science et la société. Un conseil des tutelles, qui réunit l’État et l’université de Bourgogne, assure la gouvernance et le pilotage de l’Ocim.
