About OCIMF
The Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) is a voluntary association of oil companies that focuses on the shipment and terminalling of crude oil, oil products, petrochemicals, and gas. Established in April 1970 in response to concerns about marine pollution, particularly by oil, OCIMF has evolved into a leading authority on safety in the global marine industry. With over 50 years of experience, OCIMF has become a trusted organization with member companies and consultancy status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Its mission is to create a global marine industry that causes no harm to people or the environment. To achieve this, OCIMF promotes best practices in the design, construction, and operation of tankers, barges, and offshore vessels, as well as their interfaces with terminals onshore and offshore. OCIMF offers a wide range of publications, tools, and programs that enhance the safety and environmental performance of the marine industry.
These include the Ship Inspection Report (SIRE) Program, Offshore Vessel Inspection Database (OVID), and the Marine Terminal Information System (MTIS). By leveraging the expertise of its members and external stakeholders, OCIMF is dedicated to continuous improvement in safety, security, health, and environmental performance in the marine industry
