Ocoee Horseride

Hiwassee Acres offers horseback riding and nature-focused stays at a peaceful farm in Calhoun, Tennessee. Its signature experience is a guided, one-hour walking ride along quiet forest trails, past a creek and beside the Hiwassee River. Before setting out, guests receive an introduction and riding instruction, and each ride is tailored to participants’ skill levels and interests. Visitors staying overnight may also have the opportunity to groom, brush, and feed the horses.

Guests can extend their visit with a day pass, which provides access to 225 acres for walking, hiking, biking, or driving, as well as time by the river and opportunities to enjoy disc golf, pickleball, corn hole, fishing, and farm animals. Hiwassee Acres also offers overnight accommodations, including rooms and suites, villas, a lodge, and camping. Getaway packages feature a hot breakfast and activities such as fishing and kayaking; qualifying two- and three-night reservations include horse-ride vouchers. With guided rides, outdoor recreation, and lodging, the farm provides options for a relaxing day trip or a longer escape.
