About Oceania Customs Organisation
Oceania Customs Organisation (OCO) is dedicated to promoting efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of Regional Customs Administrations. Established in 1998, OCO has a membership of 23 countries and territories from the Pacific region. Their primary focus is to facilitate and align member administrations with customs international standards and best practices, leading to greater economic prosperity and enhanced border security in Oceania.
OCO aims to assist its member administrations in developing core capabilities including a sound legal framework, intelligence-based risk and information management, modern procedures and technology, strategic partnerships, and a professional organization with a culture of integrity and excellence. Their modernization framework, driven by Customs leadership, includes updated legislation, best practices, and advanced IT systems enabling single window applications. Furthermore, a communication and information sharing strategy connects members together.
With priorities like Customs Leadership, Law Enforcement and Border Security, Trade Management and Facilitation, Revenue Mobilization, and Institutional Strengthening of Small Member Administrations, OCO is committed to ensuring an efficient and secure customs environment in the Oceania region.
