About OCSWSSW
The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) is the regulatory body for social workers and social service workers in Ontario. With a mandate to serve and protect the public, the College ensures that over 28,000 registered practitioners across the province meet specific educational qualifications and adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Only registrants of the College can use protected titles such as social worker and social service worker.
The College maintains a Public Register of registered professionals, providing transparency for the public. Through ongoing learning programs, such as the Continuing Competence Program, and rigorous complaints and discipline processes, the College upholds the highest standards in the profession. The Council, composed of social workers, social service workers, and government-appointed members, governs the College.
