Odiri

Odiri Ighamre is a writer and artist whose work brings together creative writing, coaching, facilitation and storytelling. Rooted in African heritage and shaped by a lifelong journey of learning, creating and sharing, her practice is grounded in creativity, care and community. Ighamre describes herself as a mother, grandmother and active participant in life, and her work spans oral and written storytelling, projects with and for young people, and the facilitation of self-learning for herself and others.

Her featured book, She’s Home, is the first in a trilogy. Described as a composite novel of ten chapters, it follows a girl’s unsettled journey through a series of houses and offers insight into the fragility of life for African immigrants in the UK. The website also presents creative and community activities, including Circles of Conversation, Internal Conversations, events and a shop. Through her blog, Ighamre shares reflections on storytelling, inspiration and her developing projects. She welcomes enquiries from people interested in discussing her work or collaborating on a project.
