ODIZ Frogs

ODIZ Frogs is a sports club based at Sportpark Kalverhoek in Wijdewormer, serving the Zaandam area. The club offers baseball, softball, beeball and pétanque, with teams for all age groups. Baseball and softball training and matches take place from January through October, while pétanque is played throughout the year. The club’s website provides information about teams, fixtures, training schedules, membership, fees, club rules, and opportunities to hire its dome. It also features club history, events, sponsors, and information for members and supporters.

ODIZ, short for Ons Doel Is Zegevieren, has a long sporting history. The baseball section began in 1958, followed by softball in 1965; the site also reflects on the club’s earlier roots and its centenary. ODIZ Frogs announced that the association would cease to exist after more than 68 years. In a notable final moment, its first baseball team won the fourth-class championship during what the club described as its last-ever match, on October 11, 2026.
