Ökumenisches Lernen

Stiftung Ökumenisches Lernen is a foundation based in the Braunschweig region that supports young people in exploring global perspectives through education, exchange and service. Its programmes connect participants with people and communities around the world, encouraging intercultural understanding and reflection on religious and social themes. The foundation offers scholarships for young people, alongside opportunities to take part in an International Youth Volunteer Service abroad.

Participants can gain practical experience in partner countries and contribute to projects such as community organisations and educational settings. The foundation also provides seminars, encounters and group activities before, during and after placements, helping participants prepare for their experiences and learn from them. Its work continues through alumni seminars and events that bring current and former scholarship recipients, families and supporters together.

The foundation shares reports and first-hand accounts of experiences in countries including Tanzania, Israel, Namibia, Japan, England, France and Palestine. Through these opportunities and ongoing connections, Stiftung Ökumenisches Lernen promotes learning across cultures and supports young people as they engage with the wider world
