The Otto and Erich Langguth Foundation is a public-law foundation based in Kreuzwertheim, Germany, dedicated to preserving and advancing regional historical and genealogical research. Established by Erich Langguth, a retired municipal archivist, in March 2009, it was formally recognized by the Government of Lower Franconia that April. The foundation safeguards the Genealogical Archive XW, created through the lifelong research of Otto Langguth (1878–1969) and Erich Langguth.
The collection brings together extensive research materials, a specialist library, and a photographic archive, and is being developed as a lasting regional research center. The foundation promotes scientific genealogical research and provides information relating to the historic County of Wertheim, family history, and migration. Its website offers sections on the foundation, its history and research, as well as links and contact information.
By maintaining and developing the archive, the foundation supports continued access to valuable resources for researchers and others interested in the region’s families and past
