About O Faia
O Faia - Casa de Fado since 1947 Founded in 1947, O Faia is a legendary establishment in Lisbon's nightlife. It started as a family business and remained so until 1980, when Carlos do Carmo, the owner at the time, decided to sell it. António Ramos was hired to work at the bar and, a few years later, was invited to become a partner.
In the mid-90s, together with his sons Pedro and Paulo, they took control of O Faia, once again turning it into a family house – the Ramos family's home. Every night, the father and his sons are there, paying attention to every detail, doing what they love the most: welcoming guests. Over the past 70 years, remarkable Fado artists have performed here, including Lucília do Carmo, Carlos do Carmo, Alfredo Marceneiro, Tristão da Silva, Fernando Maurício, and many others.
Today, with the presence of talented artists like Lenita Gentil, António Rocha, Sara Correia, Maura Airez, and Beatriz Felício, accompanied by Fernando Silva on the Portuguese guitar and Paulo Ramos on the viola, the tradition continues to thrive.
