About Municipal Guarantee Fund for SMEs (MGFSME)
The Municipal Guarantee Fund for SMEs (MGFSME) is a unique financial instrument launched and developed by the Municipality of Sofia to support the entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem in one of Europe's fastest-growing capitals. The Fund's mission is to provide loan guarantees to SMEs that have economically viable projects but are unable to provide sufficient bank collateral. They offer various guarantee schemes, including the Main Guarantee Scheme and the Program for Financing Innovative and Start-up Enterprises.
With over 635 supported SMEs and commitments totaling 117 million leva, the MGFSME has partnered with major banks such as DSK Bank and BAKB to finance innovative start-ups and businesses in Sofia.
