About Oh Boy Records
Oh Boy Records is a renowned independent record label based in Nashville, Tennessee. Established in 1981 by the esteemed singer-songwriter and multiple Grammy Award winner, John Prine, along with his manager and business partner, Al Bunetta, it has become a significant presence in the music industry. Now operated by the Prine family, Oh Boy Records holds the distinction of being the second oldest artist-run independent label in the United States.
With a strong commitment to nurturing authentic voices and providing a platform for songwriters to express their truth through art, Oh Boy Records continues to expand its diverse catalog. It has released over 50 audio and video recordings by celebrated singer-songwriters such as John Prine, Dan Reeder, Kris Kristofferson, Kelsey Waldon, Tré Burt, Arlo McKinley, and Emily Scott Robinson. Additionally, the label has reissued timeless classics by various country music artists.
Since its inception, Oh Boy Records has remained fiercely independent, turning down numerous acquisition offers while staying true to its mission of supporting talented musicians. In recognition of its outstanding contributions, the label was awarded Album of the Year (Small) at the A2IM Libera Awards in 2022. With a rich history and an unwavering commitment to artistic integrity, Oh Boy Records continues to shape and influence the music industry
