Ohio Judo & Jujitsu Academy

Ohio Judo and Jujitsu Academy is a veteran-owned martial arts school located at 326 Dayton Avenue in Springfield, Ohio. While its Springfield location opened in 2020, the academy’s martial arts heritage dates to 1960. Its instructors welcome beginners, experienced practitioners, recreational students, and competitors, with classes for both children and adults in a supportive, safety-focused environment.

The academy offers Judo instruction in throws, takedowns, pins, groundwork, and defensive skills, using timing, leverage, and balance. Jiu Jitsu classes focus on grappling, submissions, positional control, escapes, and practical self-defense. Youth programs help children develop focus, confidence, discipline, teamwork, and respect, while adult classes support goals such as fitness, stress relief, self-defense, and continued martial arts development. Students interested in competition can receive structured coaching and tournament preparation, with sportsmanship and improvement emphasized.

Classes are scheduled on weekday evenings and Saturdays, with separate self-defense sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ohio Judo and Jujitsu Academy aims to help students grow physically and personally through attentive instruction and traditional martial arts values.
