Central Ohio Tractor Pullers Association (COTPA) is a nonprofit organization that promotes and organizes competitive tractor pulling. Founded in May 1997 as the Central Ohio Antique Tractor Pullers Association, it began by supporting recreational antique tractor pulling. As competitors sought greater speed and power and newer machines, the organization added modern classes and adopted its current name in 2007.
Today, COTPA has approximately 90 members who participate in more than 100 pulls across Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, and Michigan. Positioned between local and national competition, the association brings together both advancing local pullers and national-level competitors seeking a more practical regional circuit. Members are expected to maintain safe, quality equipment with a professional appearance.
COTPA presents tractor-pulling shows at venues ranging from county fairs to festivals, drawing audiences that can number in the thousands. Its classes include Hot Rod Tractors, two-wheel-drive trucks, and 4×4 trucks. The association also provides schedules, rules, results, standings, champion information, contact details, and event resources for pullers and fans.
