Oil Sands Alliance

Oil Sands Alliance brings together five of Canada’s largest oil sands companies: Canadian Natural, Cenovus Energy, ConocoPhillips Canada, Imperial and Suncor. The alliance says its members work together to provide energy for global needs while advancing environmental innovation. It presents Canada’s oil sands as an important source of energy and a major economic driver for Canada and Alberta, highlighting their role in the country’s energy production and security.

A key initiative featured by the alliance is the proposed Pathways Project, a carbon capture and storage network and pipeline. Once operating, its CO2 transportation network and storage hub could be made available to other oil producers and regional industries seeking to sequester carbon dioxide emissions.
