Oklahoma Chess

The Oklahoma Chess Association (OCA) is Oklahoma’s official affiliate of US Chess, supporting chess across the state through tournaments, clubs, scholastic programs, and community events. Its website helps players find upcoming competitions, local chess clubs, and special activities, while offering dedicated information about youth events through Oklahoma Scholastic Chess. The association also publishes Oklahoma Chess Magazine, shares tournament reports and results, and provides resources such as the Okie Database.

OCA promotes opportunities for players of different ages and skill levels, from first-time competitors to experienced tournament players. Its activities include the Oklahoma state championship and other events hosted around the state, as well as support for Oklahoma players taking part in regional and national competitions. The organization also connects members with online team chess through Team Oklahoma’s participation in the US Team Chess League.

Alongside competitive play, OCA recognizes service to chess and encourages creative engagement, including chess-themed art and poetry initiatives. Through its news, listings, and programs, the association serves as a central hub for Oklahoma’s chess community
