The Oklahoma Stock Horse Association (OkSHA) is a nonprofit Oklahoma organization established in 2009 to help develop better horses and horsemanship. It serves western stock horse enthusiasts through educational programs, clinics, and competitions that support safe riding, effective training, and the preservation of working stock and ranch horse traditions. The association aims to make its programs affordable, enjoyable, and consistent, while encouraging integrity, respect, sportsmanship, and family values.
OkSHA approves competitions across six divisions, organized according to rider skill and horse experience. Its approved classes include Ranch Pleasure, Ranch Trail, Working Cow Horse, Reining, and Ranch Horse Cutting. Clinics give participants opportunities to try event formats and strengthen their horsemanship skills. The association also promotes standardized rules for conducting and judging all-around stock horse contests. OkSHA is a founding partner of the National Ranch and Stock Horse Alliance, which works to preserve ranching heritage through competitions nationwide. Based in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the association welcomes new members and supports events in the region.
