OL Gaula

OL Gaula is an orienteering club whose website shares information about its activities, events, maps, and membership. The club organizes orienteering opportunities for local residents, including seasonal events such as the OG-karusell series. These races bring participants together to navigate varied terrain, with courses designed to include features such as marshland, slopes, and glacial landforms.

OL Gaula also offers ski-orienteering: in winter 2024, it arranged an event at Langmyra in cooperation with Flå IL, with checkpoints mainly following ski trails toward Ulvtjønna and additional points along a shorter trail. Participants could download and print a map for the activity. The club also promotes tur-orientering, a recreational form of map-based exploration, and provides information about its maps and events through its website.

Its activities include opportunities for young competitors, as well as support for school orienteering: primary schools in Kvål, Ler, Lundamo, and Hovin have equipment available for organizing orienteering races. OL Gaula’s site also features news, a calendar, a photo archive, and details for prospective members
