Omenakarnevaalit

Lohja Apple Carnival is an annual community event organized by Lohjan Omenakarnevaalit ry, celebrating the long history of apple growing in Lohja, Finland. Apples have been part of local life for centuries, and the area is known for its orchards and abundant apple trees. The carnival brings together local producers, craftspeople, residents and visitors for a day focused on the harvest, food and community activities.

The 2026 event is scheduled for September 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., around the Lohja Museum. Visitors can browse seasonal produce and artisan stalls, enjoy food tents and sample apples, while learning about fruit growing. The program includes the Finnish Largest Apple competition, a scarecrow championship, live presentations and activities for children, such as crafts, pony rides and outdoor activity trails. Museum exhibitions and guided tours are also available free of charge. The event offers an opportunity to discover local traditions, meet community groups and enjoy a varied autumn program in a welcoming setting.
