ONAC COLOMBIA

ONAC, the National Accreditation Body of Colombia, is a private, mixed-nature, nonprofit corporation within the country’s National Quality Subsystem. Operating under Colombian law and applicable international technical standards, it provides accreditation services to conformity assessment bodies (OECs), supporting confidence in the quality and competence of their work.

Its accreditation schemes cover testing, calibration, medical and clinical laboratories; proficiency testing providers and reference material producers; and organizations that certify people, management systems and products. ONAC also accredits inspection bodies, digital certification entities, metrological verification bodies, driver recognition centers and motor vehicle diagnostic centers. Specialized services include recognition under OECD Good Laboratory Practice principles and accreditation in areas such as sustainability, tourism, energy, food safety, occupational health and safety, anti-bribery, private security and road safety.

ONAC helps organizations understand and pursue accreditation through guidance, rules, procedures, technical criteria and a fee model. Its SIPSO information system supports service management, while the Official Directory of Accredited Bodies lets users verify accreditation status and search accredited organizations by name, sector or scheme.
