The On Being Project is a nonprofit media and community initiative devoted to deep thinking, moral imagination, social creativity, and joy. For more than two decades, it has brought people into thoughtful conversations about humanity’s enduring questions: what it means to be human, how we want to live, and how we can be to one another. Its work connects spiritual inquiry, science, social healing, and the arts, offering a companion for living with presence in a complex world.

The project is best known for On Being with Krista Tippett, a Peabody Award-winning program that began on public radio and now releases special podcast seasons. Its offerings also include Poetry Unbound, hosted by Pádraig Ó Tuama, with poetry conversations, books, and related writing. Visitors can explore essays, poetry films, thematic libraries drawn from the archive, and resources such as the Better Conversations Guide and Grounding Virtues. The On Being Project also creates gatherings, quiet conversations, fellowships, and other initiatives that encourage generous listening, civil dialogue, and social healing.
