One Institute, formerly known as ONE Archives Foundation, is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to sharing the histories and stories of queer and trans people, communities, and culture. Based in Los Angeles, the organization connects the public with LGBTQ+ history and contemporary cultural work through exhibitions, educational initiatives, and community programs. Its offerings include K–12 lesson plans, resources for educators, youth mentorship programs, and opportunities for students to develop archival research, oral history, and creative storytelling skills.
One Institute also presents performances, screenings, readings, lectures, and panel discussions. In 2023, it launched Circa, a month-long, county-wide festival celebrating LGBTQ+ histories and cultural contributions. Its past projects include Pride Publics, a multi-site public art initiative, and the podcast Periodically Queer.
Many of its programs are offered at no cost, supported by community contributions and public and private grants. The organization also invites people to support its mission through donations, memberships, and a store featuring apparel, accessories, home goods, and publications
