One Community is a global-sustainability systems (GSS) organization that is dedicated to creating open source resources and solutions for all aspects of sustainable living. As a 100% volunteer non-profit and non-governmental organization, One Community has assembled a team of over 800 dedicated volunteers who have contributed over 100,000 hours towards this mission. The goal of One Community is to create a replicable community that serves as a model for sustainable living.
This community is being designed as the most sustainable, healthy, and fun environment possible, based on principles of compassion, kindness, and collaboration. They are developing open source resources in areas such as food, energy, housing, education, economics, and stewardship practices. By building the first of many teacher/demonstration hubs, One Community aims to facilitate mass participation in addressing humanity's pressing challenges.
These hubs will serve as examples and promote replicable sustainability on a global scale. The ultimate vision is to transform the global lifestyle into one that is more enjoyable, fulfilling, healthy, and sustainable.
