About One Montgomery Green
One Montgomery Green (OMG), a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to mapping a sustainable future for Montgomery County. It was formed in 2017 through the merger of GreenWheaton, Inc. OMG's mission is to catalyze the county's transition to a sustainable economy, promote environmental responsibility among businesses, residents, and government, and enhance the quality of life for all county residents.
OMG offers a wide range of sustainability initiatives and programs. They prioritize diversity, justice, equity, and inclusion in every project, ensuring a holistic approach. They organize events such as the National Drive Electric Week Event at Poolesville Day, supporting Poolesville Green.
OMG also partners with the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection's RainScapes program, which provides increased rewards and rebates for property owners implementing stormwater control measures. Furthermore, OMG has contributed to Maryland's efforts to combat climate change, with their own members achieving recognition as the state's first 40 Certified Climate Change Professionals (CC-PĀ®).
