Onko Amazonky

ONKO-AMAZONKY is a Czech nonprofit association based in Ostrava, founded in 1992 by women who had undergone cancer treatment. Its work is rooted in the value of meeting others with similar experiences, sharing concerns and reliable information, and offering mutual emotional support. The association aims to improve the quality of life of women affected by cancer, ease feelings of isolation, and help members face uncertainty with greater confidence and hope. Although its mission highlights breast cancer prevention, people affected by any type of cancer are welcome to seek advice and support.

ONKO-AMAZONKY organizes restorative stays and trips in the Czech Republic and abroad, and encourages creative activities such as making gifts by hand. It also informs women and men about cancer prevention and treatment options, helping raise public awareness and contribute to better care for oncology patients in the Moravian-Silesian Region. Through its activities, the association seeks to help people feel less alone, regain enjoyment in life, and believe in the possibility of recovery.
