Onkochishin

On Ko Chi Shin is a Dutch budo association offering instruction in Kendo, Iaido and Jodo at dojo locations in Arnhem and Nijmegen. Inspired by Japan’s samurai traditions, the club brings together established martial arts and the principle of learning from the past to better understand the present. Kendo is Japanese sword fighting practised as a competitive sport; Iaido is the classical art of drawing and using a Japanese sword; and Jodo is staff fighting, traditionally focused on disarming a swordsman.

Qualified instructors teach all three disciplines and maintain their skills through training with senior teachers in Europe and Japan. The association also offers lessons and courses for beginners, alongside workshops and demonstrations. Its approach aims to make sport enjoyable and accessible to people of different backgrounds and abilities, with opportunities to participate at varied levels. On Ko Chi Shin follows guidance from Dutch martial arts and sport organisations, including the Nederlandse Kendo Renmei, NOC*NSF and Centrum Veilige Sport Nederland.
