Online-Schule Saarland (OSS) is the Saarland education cloud, a digital platform supporting teaching, learning and communication across the region’s schools. Designed for students, teachers, families and school staff, it brings together services and resources that complement classroom instruction and help learners continue their studies at home.

Its Moodle-based learning platform provides protected virtual classrooms for sharing digital learning content, communicating and building knowledge. The Dateicloud enables secure file exchange among students, teachers, parents and colleagues, with teacher storage hosted on dedicated servers. Teachers also receive an official work email account, including calendar and address-book features. Virtual meeting rooms support conversations between educators, students and families, while the OSS Messenger offers schools a secure, privacy-conscious alternative to paper messages.

OSS also provides guidance for getting started, professional development, information on open educational resources, digital devices and learning media, and updates through its blog. The platform connects these services with initiatives such as AIS.chat, an AI chatbot available to Saarland teachers and students, helping schools make practical use of digital tools in education.
