Onnentupa Oy’s Perhekodit is a Finnish family-care provider offering out-of-home care for children and young people aged 3 to 18. Its family homes are located in Tuusula and Kerava, where care is provided in a home-like setting and in close cooperation with each child’s or young person’s support network. The company also offers aftercare, with three apartments available for this purpose. It is run by entrepreneurs Reija and Taisto Virkkunen and is a member of the Association of Professional Family Homes.
Onnentupa’s approach centres on providing a safe everyday environment, stable relationships and support for balanced growth and increasing independence. Its work combines clear routines and boundaries with open discussion and a solution-focused approach, helping young people build on their strengths and face life’s challenges positively. The homes also place particular emphasis on supporting school attendance and progress to suitable further studies. Young people are encouraged to pursue vocational qualifications and develop the skills needed for independent living, with care focused on helping each individual move toward a self-directed adult life.
