Ontario Sunshine List is a public information website that helps users search and explore Ontario public sector salary disclosure records from 1996 to 2025. Its database can be searched by employee name, employer, or position, and visitors can browse employers, positions, and annual disclosures. The site also offers tools to compare employers and view salary information, including reported compensation and employee details.

The records reflect Ontario’s Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996, which requires public sector organizations to disclose the names, titles, and taxable compensation of employees earning at least $100,000. Covered organizations include ministries, Crown agencies, hospitals, school boards, universities, colleges, and municipalities. The site presents summaries and benchmarks, such as average and median compensation, employee representation estimates, and the largest reporting employers, alongside lists of top earners.

For readers seeking context, Ontario Sunshine List provides explanatory articles and frequently asked questions about the disclosure rules, release schedule, and salary threshold. Its resources are designed to make public salary data easier to find, compare, and understand.
