About Ontario Marine Council
The Ontario Marine Council is a leading industry association representing major stakeholders in Ontario's marine sectors. Comprised of Port Operators, Shipyards, Ship Owners, and the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation, our mission is to unlock the full economic, environmental, and social potential of Ontario's marine economy.
In partnership with the Ontario government and industry stakeholders, we are committed to promoting the growth and sustainability of the marine sector. Our priorities focus on identifying untapped areas within the marine industry and implementing policies and resources to drive their development.
To achieve this, we support recommendations like developing an Ontario Marine Strategy, exploring opportunities for additional marine freight, and aiding the recovery and growth of the passenger cruise ship industry. Additionally, we emphasize infrastructure investment, supporting Ontario Shipyards, establishing logistical hubs, enhancing the supply chain's connectivity, and investing in skilled labor and training.
