Onyango Otieno is a pioneering cultural designer and mental health activist dedicated to fostering conversations about emotional well-being, particularly focused on masculinity, trauma, and healing. Since 2017, he has utilized digital storytelling and community engagement to challenge societal stigma surrounding mental health issues. His work spans collaborations with various organizations, including Mental 360, where he has contributed to peer support programs, and the United States Institute of Peace, addressing mental health resilience in peacebuilding contexts.

Through his podcasts, such as Afro-Masculinity and Nothing Underneath, Onyango facilitates important discussions that make mental health topics more accessible to the public. He has also established two virtual safe spaces dedicated to mental health support and addressing the challenges faced by sexually abused boys and men. His workshops in Nairobi and Nakuru provide practical tools for emotional regulation and vulnerability, helping participants on their healing journey.
