OORD is a free cultural outdoor festival held in Park West, Emmeloord, bringing music, art and performance to the polder. Founded in 2005, it was inspired by the idea of creating a small-scale Oerol-style event locally. The festival offers a platform for local cultural initiatives and aims to add colour, creativity and artistic opportunities to the region. Its programme spans live music, dance, visual art, site-specific and street theatre, poetry and multimedia, alongside other creative activities.

OORD is organised by Stichting OORD with the dedicated support of a large team of volunteers, who contribute their time and ideas without payment. The event has grown considerably since its first edition, when thousands attended, and has welcomed bands and artists from the polder and beyond. Past festivals have featured multiple music stages, dedicated spaces for theatre, poetry and dance, art installations, stalls and food and drink. OORD is known for its informal, inventive atmosphere, combining creative ambition with a playful, independent spirit.
