About Shiftworks Community + Public Arts
The Office for Public Art is dedicated to cultivating a sustainable and diverse ecosystem for public art in the Pittsburgh region. As agents and advocates for public art, they support the convergence of art and civic design. They offer a range of projects and programs that showcase the power of art to build community and foster social connection.
Featured projects include JADED, a public programming series celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander culture, Songs From the Stone Hoop, an original ceremonial music CD by artist Miguel Sagué Jr., and Nine Mile Run Viewfinder, an artwork highlighting the connection between waterways and our environment. Additionally, they organize events such as the FroGang Mural Opening Celebration and Rumbón de la Calle, showcasing local and world-renowned artists. The Office for Public Art also provides resources for artists, including artist training, opportunities, and a registry.
