About Openair Solothurn
Openair Solothurn is a locally rooted concert festival organized by Verein Openair Solothurn. It offers a series of carefully curated outdoor concert evenings, designed to feel stylish, relaxed and welcoming rather than like a large-scale festival. The 2026 event is scheduled for August 6–16 at Schanzenplatz, beside Solothurn’s historic old town and within walking distance of the railway station.
The compact setting, framed by trees and the city’s baroque walls, offers views of the Weissenstein. Concerts take place in the evening and finish by 11 p. m.
; Saturday nights continue with an afterparty at Druckerei. Visitors can also enjoy a free-access public area featuring a cultural tent, bars, food stalls and additional activities, which does not require a festival ticket. The event emphasizes music, regional culture and thoughtfully delivered food and hospitality.
Openair Solothurn also invites supporters to become donors and help make the festival possible for the city and surrounding region. Tickets, event information and a newsletter are available through its website
