About Open Arts
Open Arts is an arts collective that is dedicated to promoting creativity and the arts. At Open Arts, we believe in the power of artistic expression and its ability to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and communities. We prioritize amplifying the voices of individuals who have been historically marginalized, such as women and young people in villages and communities.
Using arts and culture as narratives, we strive to influence and shape the reality of life in Northern Nigeria. Our previous work includes being supported by a British Council Catalyst Grant as part of the New Arts New Audiences (NaNa) initiative. Through this initiative, we facilitated discussions about the language relationship between East and West Africa, particularly with Hausa and Kiswahili.
We explored these topics through history, music, and arts to engage a young audience from underprivileged communities in the art sector. Open Arts is an open space that welcomes oddities and unconventional ideas. Join us in our mission to create a more inclusive and vibrant artistic community.
