About OpenDesignAlliance
Open Design Alliance (ODA) is an industrial software consortium founded in 1998 that develops open infrastructure for engineering data. Governed by its members and structured to remain independent, ODA serves more than 1,100 member companies, including software vendors, manufacturers, and public institutions. Its platform helps organizations access and work with engineering files across applications, without relying on format conversion that can lose data.
ODA’s interoperability technologies support reading, writing, editing, viewing, and publishing a broad range of 2D CAD, 3D CAD, BIM, mechanical, civil, and mapping formats. These include DWG, DGN, Revit, Navisworks, IFC, STEP, SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, and others. The company also offers inWEB tools for embedding CAD and BIM editing, viewing, and collaboration in web and SaaS applications, alongside visualization, exchange, publishing, and common data environment technologies. Additional offerings include free IFC and STEP viewers, a drawings explorer, a web viewer, and a DWG converter. ODA provides SDK packages, membership options, technical support, and consulting services, with royalty-free pricing based on a fixed annual fee.
