Open Development Initiative (ODI), a project of East-West Management Institute (EWMI), is dedicated to stimulating public demand, building coalitions, and providing a dynamic platform for transparent data sharing and analysis. Since 2011, ODI has been actively involved in the open data sector in the Mekong region, offering valuable insights and information. The Open Development Mekong platform, launched in 2015, comprises five national websites and one regional website serving Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
ODI's vision is to empower individuals with data to enhance their lives, while their mission is to make data accessible and valuable to all people in the Lower Mekong region. Utilizing an impartial approach, ODI employs open data standards and objective analysis through visualizations and maps to boost transparency and accessibility, supporting civil society, private sector, government, academia, and marginalized communities in research, analysis, and decision-making.
