The Open Gaming Foundation (OGF) is a pivotal organization dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for tabletop gaming communities. As of February 2023, the foundation has closely monitored developments regarding the Open Game License, particularly surrounding Wizards of the Coast's actions concerning its deauthorization attempts. Fortunately, after considerable community advocacy, the license's current status remains stable and secure.
The OGF emphasizes a commitment to transparency and accessibility, advocating for equitable gaming practices. Notably, the foundation supports various licenses, including the revised System Reference Document for Dungeons & Dragons, and the Creative Commons CC-BY license, facilitating creative game development. Additionally, OGF is actively observing the industry's progress on the new license initiative known as ORC, ensuring that the interests of the gaming community are represented and upheld.
With an unwavering dedication to the philosophy of Open Gaming, the foundation continues to champion freedom and innovation in game design and play
