Openhouse SF

Openhouse is a San Francisco nonprofit dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ older adults and adults with disabilities. Its work centers community members’ voices and creates opportunities to build connections, reduce isolation, and strengthen community in an intergenerational, aging-affirming environment. Openhouse offers housing and resource navigation, providing timely information about housing and services and guidance on how to access them.

Through community engagement programs, it helps people build and reconnect with supportive relationships. In partnership with On Lok, Openhouse has co-designed a community-based adult day program for and with the LGBTQ+ community, with enrollment open. The organization also provides training to improve aging services, including LGBTQ+ 101, caregiver-focused Culture of Care training, and workshops for older adults.

Volunteers can support LGBTQ+ older adults and adults with disabilities as they work to maintain independence and community connection. Openhouse shares impact reports, events, and other resources, and welcomes support through donations and volunteering. Based in San Francisco, it is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
