About · OpenMercantil
OpenMercantil is a Spanish platform that makes public business and commercial-register information easier to search and understand. Its free tools let users look up companies and administrators, explore recent incorporations, review BORME notices, and browse organizations by sector or province. Company profiles bring together structured information such as administrators, registered capital, business activity, public contracts, and registry events, with links to the corresponding BORME documents.
The platform also provides search and research resources for public procurement, including open tenders, contract awards, contracting authorities, sectors, and municipalities. Users can consult company rankings, commercial-law guides, legal references, and a glossary of business terms. OpenMercantil says its data comes from documented public sources, including the BORME and other official datasets, and covers companies across Spain’s 52 provinces. For developers and researchers, it offers a REST API, an MCP server, and downloadable CSV and JSON datasets under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. Its aim is to make Spanish business information accessible, structured, and useful without requiring users to download official gazette PDFs.
