OpenSprinkler is a brand that offers an innovative solution for controlling sprinkler systems. The story of OpenSprinkler begins with the founder, Ray Wang, who was inspired by his passion for electronic circuits and his fascination with Arduino. As a Computer Science professor, Ray saw Arduino as a tool for research and teaching, and he soon started exploring its possibilities.

This led him to the idea of creating a web-based sprinkler controller that would allow users to set and modify watering schedules remotely. OpenSprinkler stands out because it is an open-source project, meaning that users have the opportunity to learn and understand the inner workings of the product. It is designed to be compatible with standard sprinkler valves and is Arduino-based, making it easy to extend its functionality.

The controller features an Ethernet connection and a web-based interface, providing an intuitive and convenient way to program and adjust sprinkler programs online. Additionally, OpenSprinkler allows for remote access and can integrate with weather data to optimize watering schedules. OpenSprinkler offers different versions of their product, including DIY kits and fully assembled options.

Each version has gone through revisions to improve the design and functionality based on user feedback. The current version, OpenSprinkler v2. 1, includes features such as an LCD screen, an RTC with back-up battery, a microSD slot, and a zone expansion connector.

With its user-friendly interface and smart features, OpenSprinkler offers a modern and efficient solution for controlling sprinkler systems. Whether you are a gardening enthusiast or a professional landscaper, OpenSprinkler provides the tools you need to maintain healthy and vibrant landscapes while saving time and resources
