About OpenStar Technologies
OpenStar is a pioneering brand on a mission to bring clean and abundant fusion energy to the world. With a focus on better physics, better engineering, and better problem-solving, OpenStar is committed to revolutionizing the energy industry. OpenStar was born out of the groundbreaking Levitated Dipole Experiment at MIT in 2004.
Since then, the brand has been tirelessly working to develop new technology and build a levitated dipole reactor. By the end of 2023, OpenStar aims to achieve a significant milestone by showcasing the first Marsden Class device constructed using High Temperature Superconductor, demonstrating the scalability of their reactor concept. Looking forward to 2026, OpenStar plans to further advance fusion technology by conducting key experiments and building the Rutherford class device to gain deeper insights into the remaining aspects of fusion reactions.
This progress will be complemented by the deployment of Marsden class devices to enhance our understanding of dipole physics. By 2029, OpenStar aims to eliminate the reliance on fossil fuels by introducing the power-positive Hasegawa Class devices, providing reliable and sustainable power to the grid. OpenStar's vision extends beyond Hasegawa, with plans to scale and iterate their fusion reactor concept, ushering the world into a new era of energy abundance.
