About OPERANDUM project
OPERANDUM is a pioneering brand delivering tools and methods to showcase and promote Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for mitigating hydro-meteorological risks. NBS, inspired by nature, offer environmental, social, and economic advantages while enhancing resilience by integrating natural elements into urban and rural settings. Through collaboration with partners and local stakeholders, OPERANDUM designs, develops, and demonstrates site-specific NBS in open-air laboratories (OALs) across various hazards and climate scenarios.
The project, led by UNIBO under the guidance of Prof. Silvana Di Sabatino, focuses on validating NBS to bolster resilience in European natural and rural areas against hydro-meteorological risks. The brand's GeoIKP platform provides a resourceful toolkit to explore sustainable solutions for flooding, heatwaves, and landslides, enabling individuals to identify suitable NBS and access valuable resources to kickstart their initiatives.
